October/November
The start of October sees the spring/summer collections shown to buyers and press in Paris. Back in the stores, cruise collections (between season collections that give a foretaste of what to expect for the forthcoming spring/summer) hit the shop floors and keep coming right up to Christmas.
Spring/summer collections proper start filtering through now, with retailers hoping to catch a few early sales with customers going somewhere warm and sunny over the Christmas holidays. By the middle of the month some designer brands will have their full collections on show - these are the pieces tha, come the imminent sale time, are under an annoying sign that reads "New Collection! Not in the sale."
